As we begin a new year, let us look forward to a different kind of resolution – one of resolving to live more like Christ in our daily lives. Be more caring and compassionate; more thoughtful of others feelings; more generous with our time; more patient with our families. These resolutions may be even harder to keep than going to the gym, not eating desserts, fixing more nutritious meals and losing weight. We do have prayer, thanksgiving, Bible study, and meditation to guide us daily as we are trying to be more Christ-like in our daily lives.
As the Psalmist says:
“In the morning O Lord, you hear my voice; In the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation.”
What a wonderful way to start the day, laying your requests before the Lord and waiting in expectation for his response. It will come to you at the most unexpected times and places if you just listen for him to speak.
